Can you walk to work? Can
your kids walk to school? Walking is one of the best ways to improve
your health. Yet many of us live in communities where a “simple
walk” is anything by easy. “Walkability” of our communities
has an impact on health, traffic calming, pedestrian safety and economic
development. Dan Burden, nationally acclaimed speaker and planner,
shares ways to create walkable communities where a daily walk isn’t
just a recreational activity but a regular part of conducting the business
of our lives. (This broadcast was sponsored by the NYS Healthy Heart
Program.)
